Where Are We Going?

March 14, 2011

We aren’t going anywhere.

This week it’s been made official that we are staying in Syracuse for Danny’s doctoral work.

We will be here for six years, which will be the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere. I don’t know what it feels like to live in one house for more than a few years.

I have mixed feelings about living here, but I’m not going to indulge myself in using this space to write about why living here has been challenging. What is most important and what really matters is that this is where we are meant to be – and there is security and peace in knowing that. Anywhere else wouldn’t be right.

There is also a contentment in knowing that we will be here for four more years. I now can get serious about building community and connections here.

And build up my mitten/scarf stash………………….

I applaud your faith Shannon. Syracuse has a lot to offer during the warm months. Winters? That’s when creative mamas get creative. I look forward to each posting and every picture. It’s the next best thing to being able to visit you. I love your little family and the way you and Danny are raising them.

It must be nice to know what you’re doing. My husband wants to start his Ph.D soon (next year) and we have no idea where we’ll be.

good attitude about NY. The summers will be your reward every year for making it through the fall, winter, and spring!

And now that you’ll be up there for a while we’ll just HAVE to come up for a visit!
