Let’s Move!

April 22, 2011

Don’t be fooled by the heading, we’re still going to live in Syracuse for the next four years.

While you’re recovering from your shock, I’d like to give a big round of applause and extend some hearty support for Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign and her passion to support “America’s move to raise a healthier generation of kids”. Regardless of your political affiliation, you’ve got to hand it to Michelle Obama. This program incorporates making healthy food choices, increasing physical activity, educating families about health care choices, and invites elected officials to share these ideas with their constituents.

And now Beyoncé is on board. She and her choreographer have created a routine to her “Get Me Bodied” track (lyrics modified for Let’s Move!). And now, there’s going to be a Let’s Move! flash dance event.

The big event, produced in partnership with the National Middle School Association (NMSA), the nation’s School Boards Association (NSBA) and also the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), calls for junior high school students across the country to sign up in a pre-choreographed “Let’s Move!” dance exercise routine at an identical time — Tuesday, May 3, at 1:42 p.m. Eastern Time. This may be the absolute only reason I would ever want to return to junior high. Or be a student of the Pine Bluff School District.

In all seriousness, isn’t this fun?

Anyone want to commit to standing/dancing/tripping in front of their computer and learning this with me?

i did like 5 second of it to show Kevin and I was panting pretty hard! I can’t imagine doing this whole thing non-stop. But you better believe I am going to.
