Ahoy! I’m sewing!……….I’m sewing!………….I’m sewing! I sew! I’m a sewer! I sew! Ahoy!
Although I have to admit a blind 3rd grader could probably have cut two pieces of fabric out to make this skirt, I’m pretty darn pleased I have added one more item to my withering summer wardrobe.
One thing that is not withering is my tummy, which is happily announcing that there is a baby growing inside. There is a serious shortage of maternity patterns available, so I’ll be experimenting this summer with clothes-making on the fly.

Bravo *clapclapclapclap*!! This is an awesome skirt! Keep going Shannon. Sewing opens up worlds of creative, cost-saving solutions. And have you ever looked at Etsy? Oh my gosh, the baby/children clothing designs are fantastic, and reproduceable. Long skirts and loose shirts are the way to go for busy mamas. Plus they look hip. So happy for you!

I love the skirt! I’ve always wished I had the patience to sew really awesome complicated things, but I don’t know how and sewing skirts is so easy and fun, I usually just stick with my two-trapezoids-and-a-drawstring design. 🙂 Judging by your mad quilting skills, though, I bet you’ll be awesome at sewing clothes. Just think! Matching Easter costumes for Naftalie and New Bebe!
